Julian Weigl joined Benfica from Borussia Dortmund on a 4.5 year deal.

The 24-year-old made 171 appearances for Dortmund.

Weigl signed with Dortmund from 1860 Munich in 2015. 

Borussia Dortmund beat Manchester United and Juventus to signing Erling Haaland from FC Salzburg.

Dortmund paid Haaland's $22 million release clause. 

The 19-year-old has scored 28 goals in 22 matches on the season.

United were initially interested in Haaland, but cooled off once it became clear that any future sale of Haaland would be split between his father and agent Mina Raiola. 

Takumi Minamino was officially announced as a Liverpool player after passing a medical. 

Liverpool purchased the 24-year-old for just over $8 million from RB Salzburg.

Jurgen Klopp described the Japanese international as a brave player with and without the ball.

“Takumi is a very quick, very clever player; he finds space between the lines. He is brave with the ball but also brave without the ball – a proper team player. He makes the best of himself for the benefit of others," said Klopp. 

Bayer Leverkusen signed River Plate midfielder Exequiel Palacios to a five-year deal.

The 21-year-old will join the club in January.

Palacios was at one time rumored to be signing with Real Madrid, although he has suffered injuries since.

The transfer fee is said to be around $16.7 million.

The Vancouver Whitecaps signed striker Lucas Cavallini from Puebla, according to ESPN.

The Whitecaps will pay the Mexican club a $6 million transfer fee.

The 26-year-old Canadian international has scored 30 goals in 81 matches for Puebla. 

Cavallini has also scored 11 goals in 17 appearances for Canada. 

The New York Red Bull sold right back Michael Amir Murillo to Anderlecht for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old Murillo signed with the club from San Francisco FC in 2017.

Murillo had 4 goals and 8 assists in 80 appearances for the team.
